The windows moved to the chancel 1952/3.

The brass plaque is mounted on the wall on the south side of the rear wall of the interior of the church.

Dedicated by Rev. H.J. Shingles, minister of the church.

Stained glass windows of three lights, 64 inches high x 18 inches wide (163cms x 46cms).

The centre light is not a war memorial and shows a risen Christ.

He is flanked by the two war memorial lights depicting (left) St. Michael and (right) St. George, the heavenly and earthly warriors.

These are accompanied by a brass plaque, approx. 8 inches high x 24 inches wide (20cms x 61cms).

On its left is a cross in red a cross raised in half relief, to the right of which is part of the dedication in Gothic script.

Next to this is the list of names in two columns.

On the right is the rest of the dedication in Roman capitals.

1. This was the former Gosforth United Methodist Free Church. It became the West Avenue Methodist Church in 1932. It is now part of Trinity Church, Gosforth, a Methodist/United Reformed Church Local Ecumenical Partnership meeting in the West Avenue/Ivy Road building. This became the Trinity Church building when it re-opened after refurbishment In December 2007

2. The Methodist Churches of Salters Road and West Avenue united in 1951 to form one society. The United Church met in the Salters Road premises for 2 years before moving into the altered West Avenue premises in 1953. The Salters Road premises were demolished c.2000.

3. The two outer lights are the war memorials. The central light is a family memorial to the late Mr and Mrs TE Ruddock.

4. The church council has decided that the windows will not be retained in the new building.

5. John Maxwell Gover who unveiled the window was brother to one of the dead Leslie Gover.
