In loving memory of Harry Carr, Radio Officer, Merchant Navy,
who lost his life aged 18 when his ship was torpedoed in the
North Atlantic in February 1943.
Given by his sister Jean.

There is a brass plaque at centre back, giving the details in sans serif script.

1. S.S. Newton Ash of 4,625 tons, was sunk on 08/02/1943 by a torpedo from a submarine at a position 56° 25’N 22° 26’W.
