Lister, J.H., A/Smn., 1915
On the Helles Memorial is the name of Tyneside Z/1019 Able Seaman John Hall Lister, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 04/06/1915.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

John was born on 10th August 1892. He was working as a miner living with his parents, William and Mary at 9, Office Row, East Holywell when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 2nd November 1914.

John joined the 4th Platoon, "A" Company of the Collingwood Battalion on 4th February 1915 and he was posted as missing assumed killed in action on 4th June 1915.

John was the younger brother of William Lister

John Hall Lister is remembered in Holywell on H67.07, in Backworth on B1.03, and in Earsdon on E3.02 and E3.03
