18th November 1916 age 23.

Beloved husband of
Martha Elizabeth Lawson

Margaret Allison states that in 1911 he lived at 43, Portia Street, Ashington.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Samuel was born on March 30th 1893. He was working as a miner living with his wife, Martha Elizabeth at 11, Maple Street, Ashington when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on November 23rd 1915.

He was posted to the Hawke Battalion in France on November 6th 1915 and was wounded on June 13th 1916. Samuel died on board the Hospital Ship "Aberdonian" on November 18th 1916 from the effects of a gun shot wound which fractured his spine.

Samuel Hutton Lawson is remembered in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27), A17.11 and A17.43 and in Wallsend on W7.04 and W7.19 page 19
