On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of Lieutenant Walter Lamb, serving with the 22nd Battalion, (Tyneside Scottish) Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 01/07/1916.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lamb, of Hotspur House, Warkworth, Northumberland.

The scroll sent to his family by the King is in the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers Museum.

He is remembered in Warkworth on W16.01 and W16.03 and in the Alnwick Gazette Almanack
