On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of 22/74 Lance Corporal Benjamin Beuglass, serving with the 22nd (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 01/07/1916.

Morpeth Herald 13/04/1917 carries a brief obituary:
ROLL OF HONOUR
BUGLAS [sic]- Missing since 1st July 1916, now reported killed on that date, Lance-Corpl. Benjamin Buglas [sic], aged 40 years, second son of the late William Stephen and Ellen Buglas [sic], formerly of Chevington.- (Mourned by his wife and children, brothers and sisters, Chrissie and George Hogg).

His son John Alexander Beauglass died at sea in 1941.
