On Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of C/JX 223490 Able Seaman Leslie Lumsden, serving on S.S. Fred W. Green with the Royal Navy who died 30/05/1942.

The son of Abraham and Mary Jane Lumsden.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 15/06/1946 and 12/06/1948 both carry an In Memoriam notice which reads:
Lumsdon Felling Shore A.B. Royal Navy, lost at sea May 30th, 1942, aged 25.

The edition for 15/11/1947 also includes his brother John Lumsdon.

Leslie Lumsden is remembered in our List of Ships’ Crews.
