On Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of 4513S Stoker Jonathan Rowe, serving on H.M.S. Black Prince with the Royal Naval Reserve who died 31/05/1916.

The son of John H. and Phoebe A. Rowe, of Dawdon Colliery, Seaham Harbour and the husband of Edith Rowe, of 25, Second Street, Blackhall Colliery, Castle Eden, Co. Durham.

Jonathan Rowe is remembered at Blackhall on B144.01, at Hartlepool in Local Men lost in the Battle of Jutland and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
