The son of Norman and Gladys Warne, of Southwick, Sunderland.

In Sunderland Mere Knolls Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

who died May 3rd 1927, aged 58 years.

Also the above Watts Daniel aged 74 years.

Also his wife Emma aged 64 years.
Both killed through enemy action
May 16th 1943.

Also Sig. N. Warne died of wounds received in action
June 3rd 1940 aged 18 years.

His father and stepmother were Civilian casualties in WW2
