George John Stewart Kerr was the son of John and Georgina Kerr, of High Ongar, Essex.

Air Crash Northumberland Gray, Corbett, Shipley & Anderson, 2008, Countryside Books, ISBN 978 1 84674 112 8 gives account of the crash of a Stirling at Amble in 1943 killing five children. One of the crew, Warrant Off. George Kerr was one of the crew who died.

Ian Hook has submitted the following:
My father was the sole survivor of the crash listed below and badly injured- flying again within 10 weeks.
All crew killed and five children.
My father was decorated as a result of this sad incident.
