In Brugge General Cemetery, Belgium is the Commonwealth War Grave of 4454333 Private William James Miller, serving with the 9th Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 01/06/1940.

He was the son of Joseph and Mary Miller, of Pelaw, Gateshead

His brother Herbert Joseph Miller also died.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 12/06/1948 carries a notice which reads:
Miller 15, Princess Street, Pelaw, Herbert, 27 years, also William, 19 years.

William James Miller is remembered in the 9th Battalion Book of Remembrance page 71 and in the the D.L.I. Book of Remembrance page 36.
