The son of George and Annie Hakin and the husband of Sadie Irene Hakin, of Chester le Street.

HMS Europa was a so-called stone frigate. It was the name of the central depot for the Royal Naval Patrol service in Lowestoft.

William Hakin is remembered at Chester le Street on C105.05, C105.38 and C105.40 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
