On Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of P/KX 89730 Stoker 1st Class William Dobson, serving on H.M.S. Kashmir with the Royal Navy who died 23/05/1941.

He was the son of William and Agnes Unthank Dobson, of Lemington, Northumberland

HMS Kashmir was bombed and sunk on the 23rd May 1941 by German Stuka dive bombers south of Crete together with HMS Kelly, another K-class destroyer.
