On the Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Third Officer William Bray, serving on S.S. Empire Dew (Greenock) with the Merchant Navy who died 11/06/1941.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Empire Dew – GRT 7005 – Built 1941; 12/6/1941. Torpedoed and sunk by German submarine U-68 (Schultze) in the Atlantic N. of the Azores in position 51.09N 30.16W while sailing independently on a voyage from the Tyne to Father Point, New Brunswick, for orders in ballast, dispersed from convoy OG64. 23 crew lost.
