On Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of P/KX 83978 Leading Stoker Victor Turnbull, serving on H.M.S. Kashmir with the Royal Navy, who died 23/05/1941.

The son of Isaac Coxon Turnbull and Mary Ann Turnbull, of Seaton Burn, Northumberland.

HMS Kashmir was bombed and sunk on the 23rd May 1941 by German Stuka dive bombers south of Crete together with HMS Kelly, another K-class destroyer.
