On Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of SS/4961 Ordinary Seaman Thomas Rupert Hind, serving on H.M.S. Bulwark with the Royal Navy who died 26/11/1914.

He was the son of Thomas Ayre Hind and Emily Hind, of 22, Rockingham Street, Darlington. He was born at Sharow, Ripon.

Thomas Rupert Hind is remembered at Darlington on D40.034, D40.046 and D40.067.  (On some of these his name is given as Hinde). He is also in our List of Ships’ Crews.
