On Chatham Naval Memorial, Kent, is the name of Able Seaman Thomas Edward Stephenson, serving on H.M.S. Queen Mary with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 31/05/1916.

The son of William and Mary Stephenson, of 13, Low Cross Row, Seaton Burn, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Morpeth Herald 07/07/1916 carries a brief obituary:
Mr and Mrs W. Stephenson, of 13 Low Cross Row, Seaton Burn, have received a notification from the Admiralty that their son, T.E. Stephenson, A.B., R.N.V.R., was lost on the Queen Mary. Another son, Private W.L. Stephenson, of the Tyneside Scottish, has been wounded.

Thomas Edward Stephenson is remembered at Seaton Burn on S88.01 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
