On Lowestoft Naval Memorial is the name of LT/JX. 216209 Ordinary Seaman Reginald Hind, serving on H.M. Yacht Torrent with the Royal Naval Patrol Service who died 06/04/1941.

The adopted son of Mrs. G. S. Brown, of Wingate, Co. Durham.

Acknowledgments; Colin Boyd, who states that the vessel Anna Marie was hired in September 1939 for anti-submarine duties and renamed Torrent. She was sunk in 1941 by a mine off Falmouth. (Colledge: Ship RN Vol2; Lenton/Colledge: Warships WW2)
