On the Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of P/KX 98893 Stoker 1st Class Robert Chisholm, serving on H.M.S. Anking with the Royal Navy, who died 04/03/1942.

The son of Thomas and Mary Chisholm, of Wardley, Co. Durham.

HMS Anking was sunk by Japanese gunfire at 06:30 on 4th March 1942.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 15/03/1947 and 13/03/1948 carry an In Memoriam notice.

Robert Chisholm is remembered  in our List of Ships’ Crews.
