On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Third Officer Percy Arnold Reed, serving on M.V. British Security (London) with the Merchant Navy who died 20/05/1941.

He was the son of Captain John Reed and Effie Reed, and the nephew of Mr. G. P. Elder, of Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire.

In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

In loving remembrance of
Captain John Reed
of Western Prince
lost at sea December 1940

Effie, his wife
died February 22nd 1948

Percy Arnold, their son
lost at sea May 20th 1941.

Percy Arnold Reed is remembered in our List of Ships’ Crews.
