In Yaba Cemetery, Nigeria is the Commonwealth War Grave of Lieutenant Nichol Weatherston, serving on H.M. Trawler Kelt  with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 05/12/1942.

In Newcastle upon Tyne (West Road) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

Loving memory of
Jessie Spiers Torrance
dearly loved wife of
Nichol Weatherston
died 2nd March 1940 aged 70 years

Also the above Nichol
died 6th August 1957 aged 86 years

Also their dear son Nichol
killed on active service R.N.V.R.
December 1942 aged 38 years.

He  was the son of Nichol and Janet Hastie Weatherston, of Newcastle upon Tyne.  He was married to Molly Aston Weatherston, of Benton, Newcastle upon Tyne.
