 In Gateshead East Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave, with a private headstone, of C/JX378996 Able Seaman Norman Forster serving on H.M.S. Pembroke with the Royal Navy  who died 15/04/1946.

The son of Smith and Kathleen Forster, of Gateshead.

The family headstone reads:

In loving memory of
Elizabeth Bruce
died 7th November 1934
aged 85 years.

Also Norman Forster
grandson of the above
late of the Royal Navy
died 15th April 1946
aged 22 years.
