Malcolm Massey was born at Belsay, Northumberland on 14th July 1919.

He died from Uraemia (a condition which leads to acute kidney failure) at Royal Navy Sick Quarters, Cullercoats, Northumberland on 7th July 1945.

The Newcastle Evening Chronicle 13/07/1945 reports:-
Mr Chas. Massey 11, Denton Ave. Lemington thanks all friends, neighbours, and Rev.  Nicholson for sympathy, floral tributes during their sad bereavement.
