The son of Mary Jack (nee Leary), of 23, Beechwood Street, Sunderland, and the late Andrew Jack.

In Sunderland (Bishopwearmouth) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

Master Mariner
drowned in the wreck of
S.S. George Royle
on Sheringham shore
Jan.18 1915 aged 49 years

Mary, wife of the above,
died June 17 1921.
