The son of Henry and Margaret Ann Hoggett, of Cockerton, Darlington, Co. Durham.

In Willington cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

In loving memory of
our dear brother
Joseph Bond
died March 17th 1947
aged 42 years

Also
Joseph Henry Hoggett
his nephew
Lost at sea Sept. 6th 1943
aged 20 years

Erected by his sisters

Joseph Henry Hoggett is remembered at Darlington on D40.35 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
