On the Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Chief Engineer James Frederick Williams, serving on S.S. Stuart Prince (Newcastle) with the Mercantile Marine, who died 22/03/1917.

He was the son of the late James and Hannah Williams and the husband of Dorothy Williams (nee Whitpain), of 16, Wensleydale Terrace, Blyth, Northumberland. He was born at Bristol.
