In Hartlepool North Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of C/J 8379 Chief Petty Officer Joseph Edward Mullinger, serving on H.M.S. Pembroke with the Royal Navy who died 28/01/1944.

The son of William James Mullinger and Mary Emily Mullinger, of West Hartlepool and the husband of Emma Elizabeth Mullinger, of West Hartlepool.

Acknowledgments: Barney Rice.

The Northern Daily Mail 29/01/1944 carries an obituary which states that he died in the Naval Hospital at Dartford.

Joseph Edward Mullinger is remembered at Hartlepool on H115.16, at Stranton on S139.05, at West Hartlepool on W111.033 and W111.055 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
