On Chatham Naval Memorial is the name of C/MX 65893 Cook James Barnard Hatton, serving on H.M.S. Kelly with the Royal Navy who died 23/05/1941.

The son of James and Elizabeth Hatton, of Felling, Co. Durham.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 15/06/1946 carries an In Memoriam notice which reads:
Hatton Felling, Jim, presumed killed whilst serving on H.M.S. Kelly at Crete, May 23rd 1941.

James Barnard Hatton is remembered at Felling on F32.06, at Hebburn on H93.01 and H93.13 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
