On Plymouth Naval Memorial is the name of D/JX 362433 Ordinary Seaman John Armstrong Spark, serving on H.M.S. Bramble with the Royal Navy who died 31/12/1942.

He was the son of John and Mary Spark, of Stockton, Co. Durham.

H.M.S. Bramble was a minesweeper which was sunk in the Barents Sea by gunfire from an enemy surface ship.
