On Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of Skipper John High, serving on H.M. Trawler John High with the Royal Naval Reserve who died 07/08/1916.

In Wallsend Church Bank Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

In
Loving memory of
John
the beloved husband of
Dorothy High,
Skipper in the R.N.R. who died at sea
in the execution of his duty
while clearing a minefield in the
approaches to Archangel,
August 7th 1916, aged 48 years.

Also John William, their son
who died in infancy.

Also the above
Dorothy High
who died February 12th 1948
aged 75 years.

Also William Winder
beloved husband of
Mary Jane Winder
who died September 14th 1930
aged 87 years.

Also the above Mary Jane Winder
who died February 20th 1943
aged 93 years.

John High is remembered at Tynemouth in T36.14 page 13 and at Wallsend on W7.04 and in  W7.19 page 16 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
