The son of Thomas and Barbara Anne Stephenson, of Newcastle upon Tyne and the husband of Elsie Stephenson, of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Newcastle Journal 22/11/1945 reports:-
Man’s fatal wounds
After receiving gunshot wounds in the chest. Ivan Stephenson (35) master mariner, was admitted to the Victoria Infirmary. Newcastle he was dead. He lived at 39. Julian Avenue Walkergate, and had a wife and one child. The inquest will take place to-day.
