On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Third Radio Officer Henry Edward Tait, serving on S.S. Tremoda (London) with the Merchant Navy who died 27/08/1941.

The son of Edward and Margaret Tait, of Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne.

In Newcastle upon Tyne (St. Andrew’s and Jesmond) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
Maggie Tait
Beloved wife of Edward Tait
Died March 22nd 1957, aged 66 years.

Also their beloved son Henry Edward
Radio officer, M.N.
Lost at sea through enemy action
August 27th 1941 aged 21 years.

Also the above Edward
Died November 1975 aged 88 years.
