Harold Denis Hodkinson was the son of Davies Ramsbottom Hodkinson and Julia Ethel Hodkinson and the husband of Cecilia Margot Hodkinson, of Monkseaton

H.M.S. Osprey was a R.N.A.S. helicopter and aircraft base at Portland.

The quotation is from R.L. Stevenson’s Poem “Under the wide and starry sky“.

Harold Denis Hodkinson is remembered at Wylam on W73.02 and W73.06, at Jesmond on J1.04 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
