 In Gateshead East Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave, with a private headstone, of D/JX 206221 Able Seaman George William Maddick serving on H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth with the Royal Navy who died 29/11/1945.

He was the son of Joseph and Grace Maddick, of Denton, Newcastle upon Tyne.

No headstone has been identified at Gateshead East Cemetery.

George William Maddick is remembered at Gateshead on G39.005 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
