George Turnbull was the son of George and Elizabeth Turnbull, of Milfield Hill, Wooler, Northumberland.

Some sources say he died at Craigleith Hospital, Edinburgh, others that he died at home.

George Turnbull is remembered at Kirknewton on K15.01 and in Milfield on M9.03
