Angela Conroy tells us that his Burial Record provides the following:

His death took place outside Territorial Waters off Southend on Sea. His address was 49 Holystone Avenue, Whitley & Monkseaton. He died on 01/11/1940 and was buried on 07/11/1940. The Burial register shows his age as 55, not 64.
