On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Assistant Steward Frederick Alfred Hanson, serving on S.S. Ness (London) with the Mercantile Marine who died 25/10/1917.

The son of Eleanor White Coates (formerly Hanson, nee Young), of 11, Prudhoe Street Back, North Shields, and the late Henry Hanson.

Frederick Hanson is remembered at North Shields on N34.016  and N34.77, at Tynemouth in T36.14 page 13 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
