On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Fourth Engineer Officer Edward John Brignall, serving on S.S. Grayburn (London) with the Merchant Navy who died 29/06/1941.
The son of Thomas Reuben Brignall, and of Ethel Louise Brignall, of Brixham, Devon.
The British steamship Grayburn, ship number 168570, in convoy HX-133 from Baltimore to Swansea, was torpedoed by a U Boat U-651, commanded by Korvettenkapitn Peter Lohmeyer, and sank South of Iceland.
