On Plymouth Naval Memorial is the name of D/SR 8023 Stoker 2nd Class Ernest Hollins serving on H.M.S. Glorious with the Royal Navy who died 08/06/1940.

The son of Joseph and Dora Hollins, of Fatfield, Co. Durham.

In St. George’s Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
a dear husband and father
Joseph Hollins
died 28th November 1960 aged 73 years

Also Ernest son of the above
Lost at Sea on H.M.S. Glorious
8th June 1940, aged 21 years

Ernest Hollins is remembered at Fatfield on F44.01, F44.04 and F44.05 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
