HMS Tynwald was built in 1937 by Vickers-Armstrong Limited, Barrow-in-Furness for the Isle of Man Steam Ship Package Company Limited of Douglas. Requisitioned by the Royal Navy in 1941 she was converted to an anti-aircraft escort vessel. She took part in the Allied landings at Bougie, Algiers and was torpedoed and sunk by the Italian Submarine Argo off Bougie with the loss of three Officers and seven crew.

Charles Maurice Robson is remembered at Stockton on S138.52 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
