According to the Burntisland website, the SS Phillip M was torpedoed and sunk on 24/02/1944.

Ancestry has the Merchant Seaman Deaths record card for Abraham. It states he died at his home at 8 Rowley Street, Blyth, and death was accepted as ascribed to a war injury. He was born on July 4th 1897 in Guernsey.
