On Tower Hill Memorial, London is the name of Able Seaman Albert Yardley serving on S.S. Tredinnick (St. Ives) with the Merchant Navy who died 25/03/1942.

In South Shields (Harton) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
my dear husband William Yardley
who died May 2nd 1946, aged 63 years.

Also Albert Yardley son of the above
lost at sea through enemy action
May 20th 1942 [sic], aged 26 years

He was the son of William and Elizabeth A. Yardley, of South Shields Co. Durham.

Albert Yardley is remembered at Westoe in W101.08, page 96, at South Shields on S86.037, and on our List of Ships’ Crews.
