In Shadforth (St. Cuthbert) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave, with a private headstone, of Able Seaman Arthur Scott serving on H.M.S. Renown with the Royal Navy  who died 30/01/1919

The headstone, a three tiered plinth with cross missing, reads:

loving memory of
their dearly beloved son
Arthur
who died 30th January 1919
aged 19 years.

At rest.

And of Ralph Edward their son
who died in infancy

Side 2 reads:

loving memory
of
Frederick William
dearly beloved son of
George & Annie Scott
who died 11th September 1915
aged 26 years

Thy will be done.

Side 3 reads:

In loving
memory of
George
beloved husband of
Annie Scott
died  June 2nd 1922
aged 62 years

At rest.

Also of the above Annie Scott
who died 26th July 1930 aged 62 years
