On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Fireman Andrew McKeon, serving on S.S. Southborough (Sydney New South Wales) with the Mercantile Marine who died 17/07/1918.

The son of the late Andrew and Ann McKeon. He was born at Walker on Tyne.

In Walker (Christ Church) Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

Of your charity
pray for the repose
of the soul of
James McKeon
who died at Walker
August 25th 1906, aged 37 years.

Andrew McKeon, died at sea
July 16th 1918, by enemy action.

Also Elizabeth McKeon
who died August 18th 1921
On whose souls, sweet Jesus, have mercy.

Andrew McKeon is remembered in our List of Ships’ Crews.
