a. Unveiled 17th September 1922 by Lt.Col. Robert Scott of Newton House, Lesbury.
Dedicated by Dr. Wild, Bishop of Newcastle.

Other conflicts.
Statue of St. George resting on his sword on top of column, the total height of which is 14 feet (4.2m).
There is a stepped octagonal base with moulded cornice and inscriptions inlaid in lead, carrying tapering square shaft of polished stone with wreath at the foot, with the dates “1914-1919” in the centre.
Below the wreaths and above the names are the words “Their names shall live forever in honour & glory”.
The pedestal is in two stages.
The names from 1914-18 are in a single column on each of the eight upper faces.
The dates “1939-1945” are laid on four alternate horizontal steps between the two parts.
The names from 1939-45 are in a single column on each of the eight lower faces.
Two other names from “Other conflicts” have been placed on the lower pedestal.
All lettering is in sans serif capitals, each letter made of lead and fixed to the stonework.
Two seats have been added (2022) made by David Ogilvie, Kilmarnock
a. 152 names, ranks and regiments.

c. 2 names, ranks and dates.

1. The site was “In a park in the centre of the village, leased from Lord Ridley”.
2. In 2007 the sword was missing. It was replaced free of charge in time for Remembrance Day by the firms of Bart Endean and Wroughtweld, who were officially thanked by Blyth Valley Council.
3. This memorial was cleaned and renovated and missing letters replaced in 2014 by Bart Endean Memorial Company. The name of R.G. Pattison, who was shot at dawn, was added in the 2014 work.
