In memory of Lt. Hugh John Craufurd Walton-Wilson,
Royal Navy F.A.A., who gave his life in
H.M.S. Courageous 17th September 1939.

Stained glass arched window of single light 83 inches high x 24 inches wide (210cm x 60cms), depicting an angel reading a book.

The naval badge appears at the top, and the Fleet Air Arm badge appears at the bottom, between the lettering of the inscription, which is produced by blacking out the background and leaving the letters clear.

To the left of the lettering appears a silhouette of a ship, and underneath is the reference “Revelation 10 v 1-6” which tells of the vision of the angel carrying a small book and declaring that there should be time no longer.

1. H.M.S. Courageous of 22,500 tons was a cruiser refitted as an aircraft carrier. She was sunk by a torpedo from a submarine west of Ireland.
