To the glory of God our Father and to
the undying memory of the men named below
members of this parish or church who nobly gave
their lives for right and home in the Great War
their friends and neighbours dedicate this tablet
and the stained glass of the east window.
Three stained glass windows, each of three lights, forming three sides of an apse at the east end, with the altar below the central light.
Left hand light depicts Abraham about to slay Isaac, with an angel holding a sword which is being passed one to the other. To the left is a lamb caught in thorns. To the right is a pot of fire.
Above is a ribbon bearing the words “Praise ye the Lord for the people willingly offered themselves” In the two small windows above are the Alpha and Omega signs.
Central light depicts Christ in glory, surrounded by men and women in various uniforms: a nurse, soldiers, sailors and an airman.
In the light above is the crown of glory.
In the tracery at the top of the altar below the window are again the Alpha and Omega letters.
Right hand light depicts the Crucifixion, with Mary to the left and a saint on the right. In the ribbon over the cross are the words “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”.
The plaque has a raised outer edge.
To the right is a figure of winged victory carrying a flag, the shaft of which almost reaches to the further side.
To the left of the flagpole are the dates.
In the border at the bottom are the words “Pro Patria”.
The figure, dates and “Pro Patria” are gilded.
The names are listed in five columns.
The lettering is in raised in Roman capitals.
