Unveiled 11th November 1921 by Major-Gen. Sir P.S. Wilkinson, Colonel of the Regiment, in the presence of the Duke of Northumberland, Hon. Colonel of the Northumberland Fusiliers.

Warrant Officers, Non-Commis
sioned Officers and Privates
who have ever served with the
1st or 2nd Battalions of the
Fifth Fusiliers who gave their
lives in the Great War 4th August 1914
to 11th November 1918.

On brass plaque
A Book of Remembrance
containing the names of the Officers,
Non-Commissioned Officers
and Privates
to whose memory
this window is dedicated
is deposited for safe keeping
in the vestry of this
Cathedral Church.

Memorial Description:

Stained glass window of three lights.

This depicts three ?angelic knights, with a ribbon above their heads bearing a quotation.

Near the bottom of the central light is the badge of the Northumberland Fusiliers, with the motto “Quo Fata Vocant”.

The dedication runs across the bottom of all three windows, in black lettering.

1. Colours of 2nd Batt. N.F. were laid up in the Cathedral 24th July 1920.

2. The Book of Remembrance is now in the R.N.F. Museum at Alnwick Castle. See Alnwick A11.43a, A11.43b and A11.43c for file. It is so large we have had to split it into three sections.
