Memorial Description:

Roll of Honour in wood frame 30 inches high x 20 inches wide (91cms x 50cms).

The roll is a sheet of card hand-painted in oils showing pillars at each side and flags and banners at the top.

At the foot of each pillar is a seated lion.

The names are handwritten in three columns.

At the bottom is a small frame containing the words “Castletown Branch Comrades of the two Great Wars”.

Notes:

1. The memorial was removed from St. Margaret’s because the vicar considered it “distasteful”.

2. St. Margaret’s closed April 19th 2004 and was demolished in 2008.

3. The Memorial has been repainted in the past, and ‘touched up’ to restore the condition.
