Memorial Description:

Plaque 18 inches high x 24 inches wide (46cms x 61cms).

It is very plain, with a recessed border.

The lettering is incised and painted blue, using Roman capitals throughout.

Notes:

1. Albert Silvertop and his son George purchased the cottages and farm lands of Minsteracres in the mid-18th century. A Catholic Mission was established on the estate in 1765. The Church of St. Elizabeth was opened in 1854. The estate was sold to the Passionist Congregation in 1949.

2. The Journal 01/09/2017 reports that the a memorial would be unveiled in the town of Boom in Belgium. It is in the form of a figure 4, which was the flanking manoeuvre used by the 3rd Royal Tank Regiment when they outwitted the Germans.
Lt. Col. Silvertop also has streets named after him in Boom and Antwerp, plus a tram stop, a housing development and a supermarket.
